Site Engineer – Major Highways Project (West Midlands)

Location: West Midlands
Contract Duration: 6-12 Months
Rate: 400 per day

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major highways infrastructure project in the West Midlands. Working as part of a multidisciplinary construction team, you will be responsible for setting out, quality assurance, technical compliance, and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of works on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and site surveying activities.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Produce and maintain accurate site records, as-builts, and QA documentation.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site activities.
• Identify and resolve technical issues on site, liaising with design and project teams as required.
• Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Assist with planning, progress reporting, and programme delivery.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways, roads, or major civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of setting out using GPS and total station equipment.
• Experience with QA processes, ITPs, and construction documentation.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• CSCS Card (essential).
• SMSTS and First Aid qualifications desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.

Rate & Contract

• 400 per day.
• 6-12 month contract with potential extension.
• Immediate start preferred.
