Position: Design Engineer

Location: Cheltenham

Salary: 37,000 – 42,000 (DOE)

Design Engineer required to join a well-established engineering company that supply to the Aerospace industry. The successful candidate will lead the design and development of complex tooling and precision engineering solutions.

You will take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, ensuring designs meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and manufacturability.

Design Engineer Job Overview

• Lead the design of Press tools & fixtures using advanced CAD software
• Manage design projects from initial concept through to final approval
• Collaborate with clients to interpret requirements and provide expert technical guidance
• Ensure all designs are optimised for manufacturing, cost-efficiency, and performance
• Oversee and review the work of the design team providing mentorship and support
• Maintain accurate design documentation and ensure compliance with ISO standards
• Drive continuous improvement and contribute to innovation within the design process
• Supporting full rate production of a range of products aligned to the Aeroforma Business requirements
• Creation of detailed process instructions of the new Process when new tooling was introduced
• Produce detailed drawings

Design Engineer Job Requirements

• Proven experience as a Design Engineer within tooling and precision engineering
• Proficiency in CAD software , and CATIA V5
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes to including forming using Hydraulic & Hydroforming Presses is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Leadership experience or the ability to support other team members
