Data Engineer – PowerBI
Location: Leicestershire – onsite, with some flex.
Duration: 9 months (initial)
Rate: £250 per day inside IR35

Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong Power BI experience to support a critical data programme.

This role will focus on building high-quality, scalable reporting solutions using Power BI, working closely with business stakeholders and existing delivery teams. You will play a key part in designing reporting outputs, shaping data models, and ensuring the delivery of effective, business-facing insights.

This is a hands-on role that also carries responsibility for owning delivery from requirements through to deployment, while supporting and guiding additional developers contributing to the reporting workstream.

• Strong hands-on experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards in enterprise environments
• Work closely with stakeholders to define, document, and implement actionable data rules.
• Carry out data cleansing activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems.
• Analyse and prepare datasets for reporting and operational use.
• Strong experience with Excel for analysis and reporting.
• Hands-on knowledge of Snowflake (data warehousing).
• Proficiency with Python for data analysis and transformation.
• Previous experience working with ERP systems/data.
• Knoweldge of SAP
• Proven ability to perform data cleansing and deliver high-quality datasets.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with non-tech stakeholders.
• Create and maintain workbooks, reports, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with business teams to ensure data requirements are delivered as per deadlines.
• Provide support with ERP systems, specifically data, and integration with other systems.
• Background in working on bespoke systems and tailoring solutions to business needs.
• Ability to quickly understand complex data environments and act with pace.
