The Proxy Engineering team provide our applications with a simple, reliable and secure way to connect to Internet and cloud based services.

The role requires a candidate with demonstrable experience of working with Proxy technology and platforms. It requires an in depth understanding cybersecurity and cloud networking principals that you will use to design, build and deliver Proxy solutions to our internal customers and peers.

As an SME within this team you will ensure the designs and solutions delivered are of high quality, align with our strategies, and follow best practice.

You will work as part of an Agile team to achieve set project deliverables.

You will define capability roadmaps around policies and the Proxy’s and who can. understand other types of security that interfaces with the Proxy, so tooling like DLP tooling, with a heavy security focus. If you understands the policies and policy consideration with any changes or implementations they make this is the ideal role for you

The business face daily challenges and threats from different places particularly with Internet traffic and AI and they need to develop a capability roadmap on how they can respond to these threats from a policy level. Understanding what traffic they can allow through and manage the life cycle of this. How they introduce new policies to allow this traffic.

In essence this person needs to be able to understand policy considerations, what the threat imposes and evasion techniques. Have an awareness of the attack methodology to the threat on the policy.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Design, Build, Delivering of high quality technical solutions on Proxy platforms
• Policy and Roadmap building
• Providing consultancy to internal customers and peers
• Identify improvements to existing solutions and processes
• QA complex engineering solutions
• Good experience in Proxy technology: Zscaler, WSS or Bluecoat.
• Firewalls: Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Checkpoint
• Security focus and awareness
• Policy life cycle experience
• Capability roadmapping and how incidents relate to the Proxy.
• Provide Proxy-server based project support for all infrastructure and application deployments used by the business
• Team members work in conjunction with project managers and other various technical SME’s to ensure application resiliency, fault tolerance and capacity.
• There’s a strong team ethic and team members are constantly asked to support others workloads in order to deliver to often challenging project timelines

Skills/Experience

• Experience of working in an agile infrastructure development team
• Previous technical experinence of Proxy platforms and architecture
• Strong interpersonal skills – good judgement, assertiveness, high level of communication skills to achieve effective stakeholder management, build consultative relationships, and ability to collaborate directly with a variety of clients (business, development, compliance, etc.)
• Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely, suitable for all levels across the group. Gravitas and ability to interact with and coach senior executives
• Knowledge and experience of using agile delivery methods and tools to implement both tactical and strategic changes
• Needs to be resourceful and demonstrate innovation
• Commercially astute, ability to balance and assess risk vs. reward, maximising cost effectiveness and profitability for functions and/or business lines
• Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across all the globe
