CLOAS Developer (Cobol Developer)

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires experienced CLOAS System Developers (Cobol Developers) to be based in their client’s office in Potters Bar, UK.

This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Potters Bar office 1 – 2 days per week.

This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start ASAP.

Day rate: Competitive Market rate.

The customer is using CLOAS as their policy admin system. They are enhancing this system to design new products and also to build data warehouse in CDP. The candidate identified would work as SME in this system and help with all the enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, integrate, test, transition to production, and maintain software applications in CLOAS system
• Provide production support and application monitoring and tuning for applications
• Participate in project planning
• Provide input into the evolution of the software development environment and methods
• Lead other Developers in support and maintenance tasks
• Involve in additional activities, including providing ongoing daily production support and remediation of business applications within the Corporate line of business – including the development and execution of test plans
• Oversee and participate in the rotation for monitoring incidents

Key Requirements:

• 5 to 6 years of experience in designing, developing and testing in CLOAS system
• Understanding of the CLOAS data structure, interfaces
• Experience in various Mainframe technologies like CICS, Cobol, DB2, JCLDB2, JCL
• Insurance industry knowledge
• Customer facing role
