Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable Java microservices and APIs
Develop secure and high-performance Back End systems for government digital services
Work in Agile/Scrum teams alongside product managers, testers, and DevOps engineers
Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical design discussions
Integrate services with databases, messaging systems, and third-party APIs
Ensure code quality through unit testing, TDD/BDD practices, and peer reviews
Support deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing systems
Ensure compliance with government security and accessibility standards
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong commercial experience with Java (8/11/17+)
Experience with Spring Boot/Spring Framework
Building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP – AWS preferred in gov projects)
Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices (TDD, SOLID principles)
