2x Man Civil Operatives – 1st & 2nd Man Crew (OpenReach Work) Horsham, West Sussex.
Location: Horsham.
Contract: Permanent.
Salary: £28,000 (Civils Labourer) -£40,000 (1st Man) + fully expensed van, equipment.

Job Description:

My client is currently seeking to recruit experienced 2x man Civil Gangs (ideally 1st man with experienced civils labourer) within 1.5 hour commute of Horsham covering projects for major ISP s (OpenReach) across Horsham (M25 Corridor). Under the direction of the Manager & Site supervisors, applicants will be required to perform excavations, repairs and reinstatement, installation of duct, street cabinets, pulling of draw rope on telecoms infrastructure located within the public highway, streets and up to customers premises using up to date client standard operating procedures and in full compliance to current legislation, health and safety requirements and company policies.

Experience, Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Experienced of carrying out manual excavations-reinstatement as per industry standard within the BT Openreach Duct Network or other utility service providers.
• Laying-Jointing of various type/size of Telecom Ducts including Micro Duct.
• Capable to perform Duct testing & roping for cable pulling.
• Capable of performing and/or managing BTMG activity for connecting Ducts in Jointing Chambers/CBT s.
• Locate and repair/clear telecom underground duct blockage in any surface.
• Preferably hold existing BT accreditations or have previous BT experience.
• Ability to produce, update and interpret records of daily work logs, data recordings and network design maps.
• Experience of risk assessment and hazard identification.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental policies at work site.
• Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients.
• To treat internal and external customers with respect and provide support at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures
• Experience in a similar operational or engineering environment within the telecommunications industry.
• Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws / Wacker plates/ trench compactor / mini digger / jack hammer and hold the correct certification to complete the works.

Job Requirements:

• Must Hold BT PIA SA002 and SA006 (Smart Awards)
• Have a current NRSWA Streetworks Card (Level6 and Level 7), CSCS/ECS Card, Confined Space Training.
• K8 Rodding & Roping.
• SA002 in underground safe working.
• SA006 in Civils Safety.
• NRSWA certificate, Units for Excavation, Reinstatement.
• A digger license is desirable CPCS/NPORS.
• Clean UK driving Licence.
